Equine Assisted Therapy ( EAP) and other Modalities

I have provided Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) in my practice since 2018. I have training in Natural Lifemanship and Masterson Method as well as many other animal assisted therapy trainings. Both of these modalities are based out of relationship building and choice. Equine Assisted Therapy has been empirically researched to be beneficial in therapy especially for clients that have endured trauma, loss, abuse and many other diagnoses that make connections difficult. Come meet the herd!

I also value other forms of therapy that we have on the farm including gardening, play, art, and traditional modalities. I believe in person centered therapy. Providing many options allows you to gain the best outcomes in our time together.

Introducing Your Therapist

My name is DeNae Haagenson, I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in both Minnesota and North Dakota. I provide therapy to individuals, families, couples, and groups. I have experience and am available for consultation with your business through workshops and speaking engagements. I have extended trainings in trauma and grief and loss. I provide services to young children - adult.

On site, we have, “The Outhouse”(currently under renovation). A therapeutic retreat for your family or group to stay while participating in a weekend at the farm or extended therapeutic services.

I enjoy providing services through experiential therapy. Many activities aid in expressing feelings and allow people to practice skills while working on a task. Whether it be with an animal, kneading bread, gardening, drawing or walking in the field; experiences allow us to practice and create new ways of connecting and healing.
